Biking (Mountain & Rail-Trail)

Chiques Rock Outfitters  rents both bikes and kayaks. The river is typically only three season without special clothing and equipment.

The Common Wheel-A community bike shop that seeks to provide access to bikes to the Columbia community. Operated like a Co-Op.

CycleWorks - Sell quality bikes  and accessories and do excellent repairs, sometimes while you wait. Another family-owned business with a personal touch. Also has a coffee shop!

Let's Roll E-Bike Shop - Very close to the Northwest River Trail for both bikes and walking. A short car ride to the Enola Low Grade Trail (do not ride your bike on 441 unless you have a death-wish.

Rocky Ridge Park - It is the closest true mountain biking trails in the nearby area. Some easy trails to trails that require an enormous amount of skill.  It is very rocky, hence the name.  Most trails not to be messed with by novices with regular street bikes or even hybrids. Rocky Ridge Park is about 15-20 minutes from Columbia proper. Check the website and call the park office for status of the trails (open or closed) and other issues such as the annual deer hunt late Fall. 717-840-7440.

SAMBA - The Susquehanna Area Mountain Bike Association. Mountain Biking is a heck of a lot of fun yet it has elements of risk and danger. Never go on a trail that you are not familiar with. Walking it first is always a smart move.  Members of SAMBA are pretty hard-core and experienced mountain bikers so keep that in mind when comparing to your own skill level.
